Rugby MS Group Presentation!

The Rugby MS Group are in the process of arranging for dedicated nurses to support local people with MS.

We said that monies raised from the carol singing around the village last year would be donated to a local charity and as we have committee members who have relatives with MS, we decided to support the local MS Group.

Dunchurch Christmas Card Competition 2012

Dunchurch Christmas Card

The Dunchurch Festival Group would like to thank everyone for their entries to the Village Xmas Card Competition (as invited to do so throught the Rugby Advertiser's District Diary). Of the ten or so entries, half were orginal art works and the balance were photgraphs.

The Rev. Malcolm Garratt was kind enough to review all the entries (with a very informed eye as a keen photographer and amateur artist himself) and short listed two entries.

Festival Group Chairman Rob Collins was then asked to decide the winning entry. On balance it was decided on the card submitted by Pat Judge, well known in the Village for her theatrical make-up talents at the Play & Panto and very popular with the children for her face painting on Fete Day. Congratulations to Pat and well done to everyone who took part. We look forward to seeing the finished article in plenty of time for all the organisations in the Village to be able to sell the cards and devote the profits to their own causes!

70s Disco Event Presentation

"Johnny Rotten, Alvin Stardust, Farrah Fawcett-Majors and a Smurf, along with a host of 70's Rockers, all got together on 12th November at the Village Hall at an event hosted by The Dunchurch Festival Group.

The 70's Disco attracted almost a hundred locals and authentic CD's and vinyl from the period were matched by the costumes, decorations and even bottles of Black Tower and Mateus Rose, accompanied by Hula Hoops and Curly Wurlys!

The evening kicked off with the presentation of a cheque for £230 from the Group to the Warwickshire and Northamtonshire Air Ambulance, the proceeds from a bucket collection taken up during their recent production of the play "Beyond a joke"

The photo above shows Jess Upstone [from Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance] recieving the cheque from play Director Mike Judge on behalf of the Dunchurch Festival Group"
