Progressive Supper - 8th October 2016!

Progressive Supper

Dunchurch’s Annual Progressive Supper is a very sociable event and more about meeting new people in the village, catching up with old friends and having a good time, rather than the food.

Saturday October 8th 2016…….

This year’s Progressive Supper will follow the same format as previous years, but without the England match this time.

All you will need to do is provide one course (starter, main or dessert) with wine, for either 6 or 8 adults (including yourselves). The idea is that the food should be quick, simple and prepared in advance, as everyone involved moves to a different location for each course. It is NOT a cooking competition! Feel free to make your own course if you are happy to do so but the supermarkets also have a great range! For first timers, you can choose which course you would like to prepare.

The format for the evening.........

We all meet together at the beginning of the evening at someone’s house, for drinks and nibbles.

The middle part is the will be told where you are going for each course as the evening progresses (you will only know the venue for your own course). At each house you will have your meal with different people. Again, you won’t know who until you get there!

The only requirement is that you live in Dunchurch, so that you can walk/cycle to each house. The cost is £10 per couple.

You will be told which course you are doing beforehand and where you will start the evening.

If you would like to be involved, please complete the form .

If you would like further information, please give Fiona a ring on 813348.

If you want to be involved in this event or are just not sure what a progressive supper is, you can get additional details of the evening here.

Proceeds will go to one of Her Majesties children’s charities, in this year of her special birthday, and village good causes.

There will be sketches remembering Ronnie Corbett and Victoria Wood, plus a Python tribute and performances by our own Dunchurch Voices and (Saturday only) The Dunchurch Band.
There are also plans to include a short excerpt from next years Pantomime, “The Princess and The Pea”, written by Sue Protheroe and lots of music, magic and comedy – something for everyone!

The Saturday show will commence with complimentary sparkling wine and a Trio of Puddings and a liqueur in the interval and on both evenings there will be a licensed bar and one of our famous fund-raising raffles!!

Whalebone Live Black And White

“..instrumental music of high sophistication…skilled musicians and imaginative arrangers” (Living Tradition, September 2013)
